The heir to the Swedish throne kickstarted 2019 with a series of important royal duties. On Wednesday, 41-year-old Princess Victoria visited the Life Guard in Kungsängen, where she met members of the Swedish Armed Forces’ 13th security battalion. For the occasion, Princess Victoria slipped into a green camo suit sporting the Swedish flag on a sleeve.
She also wore a green military beret.
This military division is focused on discovering and fighting security-threatening activities, both at a national and international level.
During the visit, Victoria was shown how the her country’s Armed Forces use dogs to detect threats.
And she even became part of the action as she tested a Robot 57, a lightweight armoured defence robot simulator.
This is not the first time Princess Victoria, daughter of King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden and Queen Silvia, wears camouflage, as the royal undertook a basic soldier training at the Swedish Armed Forces International Centre in 2003.
The experience on the field, despite not including any active military duty, gave the princess a taste of the military life.
Laid back Princess Victoria has no problem in being seen without fancy dresses or tiaras, and has often rocked more informal outfits.
Earlier this month, the official Instagram account of the Swedish Royal Family showed Victoria, her husband Prince Daniel, 45, and their children Princess Estelle, 6, and Prince Oscar, 2, hitting the slope.
The whole family was wearing skiing gear as they were showing off their skills on the snow.
However, the Crown Princess has often stunned in gowns.
Just last month, Victoria attended the award ceremony for the 2018 Nobel Prize wearing a strapless pink and silver Nina Ricci gown.
The princess’ stunning figure was emphasised by a golden belt, which gathered into an oversized bow at the back.
Despite being breath-taking, the dress was far from being new, as it has been worn by her mother Silvia for the same occasion 23 years ago.
For the official ceremony, Victoria also wore a silver sash across her body and the family order pinned to her dress.
The mother-of-two completed her outfit with the delicate Connaught Tiara and a pair of coordinating diamond earrings.
