July 23 (Renewables Now) – Swedish firm Arise AB (STO:ARISE) has secured an order to manage a 235-MW wind park in Northern Sweden for the Green Investment Group Ltd (GIG).
The deal brings Arise’s total wind power assets under management to 1 GW, the onshore wind farm developer said on Friday.
The firm did not mention the name of the project, but we reported last week that GIG purchased the 235-MW Overturingen wind scheme in Ange municipality. That complex will use 56 units of Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA’s (BME:SGRE) 4.2-MW turbines, which will be installed at Laensterhoejden and Storfloetten. Main construction is expected to start imminently and be completed by December 2019, GIG announced on reaching financial close on the project.
GIG, the former UK Green Investment Bank, now part of Macquarie Group Ltd (ASX:MQG), also signed a 29-year off-take contract with Norwegian aluminium company Norsk Hydro ASA for Overturingen.
