Broadcasters in Italy and Finland have pre-bought rights to animated preschool series Dinocity from APC Kids, the children’s entertainment division of APC Studios.
The two deals are the first for the new series and involve Italy’s DeA Kids, which has taken exclusive pay TV rights, and pubcaster YLE, which has secured TV rights for Finland.
The 52×5’ series, which follows a family of dinosaurs, comes from Russian prodco Riki Group, produced in partnership with Animax studio.
APC Kids is also on board as co-investor in exchange for exclusive global distribution rights, excluding Russia and China, having brought kids’ content veteran Nigel Pickard to exec produce the project, as well as Lee Waters (Floogals, Pet Squad) as script editor and voice director.
